The town is rich with early examples of 19th century architecture. The Columbian’s wrap-around porches, magnificent staircase, window seats, pocket doors and original fireplaces reflect an era that is past.

The Birth of The Columbian Bed & Breakfast
The Columbian Bed & Breakfast, once known as "the mansion of Columbia", is an 1897 Colonial Revival Mansion located in the Rivertown of Columbia, Lancaster County. The home was built by Mr. and Mrs. Moore. Mrs. Anna Moore was the daughter of wealthy railroad tycoon Mr. Fendrich who had a mansion and property that streched half a city block including green houses and stable. A fire struck the mansion in 1888 and Mr. Fendrich died. Anna and her husband Mr. Moore bought the property from the estate sale and built a new home on part of the property and sold the rest of the property off. This property became the Columbian Bed and Breakfast in 1988.
